The tail is the most visible part of a dog in motion and the part most often left as an afterthought. Trimming it properly finishes the whole outline.
We comb the tail out fully and shape it to the style you want — a rounded plume, a straight flag, or clipped short and tidy — and clear the underside where waste tends to catch.

* Some coats simply need more time — heavy double coats, dense undercoats, and long silky hair all take extra brushing, drying, and scissoring. Common Questions
Can you shorten the tail hair a lot?
Yes, down to a close clip if that suits your dog's life better. It grows back.
My dog won't let anyone touch their tail.
Common, and fine. We work from the base outward and go at whatever pace they'll accept.
