Bows for the ears or topknot, bow ties for the collar. Traditional on some breeds, purely for fun on the rest, and always optional.
Ear bows are fastened with a soft band that doesn't pull on the hair, and we place them where they won't interfere with the ear canal. Collar bow ties clip on and come off in a second.

* Some coats simply need more time — heavy double coats, dense undercoats, and long silky hair all take extra brushing, drying, and scissoring. Common Questions
Do the ear bows pull?
They shouldn't — we use soft bands, placed loosely. If your dog paws at it, take it out.
How long should it stay in?
A day or two at most for ear bows. Leaving them in long-term can cause the hair to break.
